General Hospital star Rena Sofer has rekindled love with a former partner. The flame was clearly still there so she and her ex ended up getting married all over again. The actress, who originated the role of Lois Cerullo, has been a fan favorite for many years. So, what happened and how did she know that it was the right move to give this marriage another go? General Hospital Rena Sofer Rekindles Love, Remarries Ex
Rena Sofer’s character Lois Cerullo had an amazing love story with Ned Ashton, played by Wally Kurth. They were one of the best couples on General Hospital because their love was so believable. It soon translated into real life and two years after Sofer joined the show, she and Kurth tied the knot. Unfortunately, their marriage did not last and they parted ways two years later. However, Sofer and Kurth did welcome a daughter, Rosabel. Around the same time that Sofer and Kurth’s marriage ended, so did her stint on GH.
She continued to have a successful career in television, appearing on Melrose Place, 24, and The Young and the Restless. Eventually, Sofer returned to her role on General Hospital as Lois in 2023 but, in the meantime, aside from acting, she had found love once again. She married Sanford Bookstaver, a director and producer over twenty years ago. The two went on to have a daughter together but divorced after fourteen years of marriage. However, they reconciled just a few years later and got engaged once again.
Now, they have made it official and have gotten remarried, according to People. Rena Sofer and Sanford Bookstaver honored, what would have been their 21st wedding anniversary, by doing it all over again. They admitted that they needed time apart so that they could find their way back to each other. As for Rena’s first husband, Wally Kurth, he is still on GH and has found love once again. In 2003, he married Debra Yuhasz and has been happily married ever since.
