General Hospital Comings And Goings: Kirsten Storms Undergoes Brain Surgery, Off GH
General Hospital comings and goings reveal that we won’t see Maxie for a bit as actress Kirsten Storms recovers from a harrowing experience. Just as Maxie had to go through a horrific experience giving birth on the side of the road for the second time in three years and now actress Storms has had her own terrifying health scare as she just underwent brain surgery.
General Hospital Comings And Goings – Kirsten Storms Off General Hospital For Now
The actress posted to her Instagram stories on Friday night that she had brain surgery earlier in the week but immediately wanted to clarify that she does not have cancer.
“So, I’ve not really spoken about this much or at all,” Storms said. “Less than 48 hours ago, I had brain surgery, hence the neck brace. It was on the lower part of my brain. So what they had to drain and remove was not cancer — I want to clarify that right now before the Internet goes crazy wild with rumors. I had a very large cyst that had split into two — the doctor said that it was so full, the pressure was very noticeable when they opened up my skull.”
She also said she won’t be at work for a few weeks as she recovers. But she assured fans she will be back and in the meantime, she’s going to do a whole lot of knitting, the hobby she shares with another General Hospital star.
GH Spoilers – Lulu Spencer Is There For Maxie Jones In Real Life
Storms also revealed that real-life best friend Emme Rylan, who played Maxie’s best friend Lulu, is taking care of her until she can get a professional at-home nurse in place.
“Emme is taking care of me until I get to my at-home nurse. It’s been an interesting last couple of days,” Storms revealed in her Instagram stories.
Rylan and Storms have a unique friendship just as Maxie and Lulu had a unique friendship, with Maxie naming her daughter Louise as a tribute to her friend who has been in a coma since last fall.
General Hospital Spoilers – What Will Happen To Maxie Jones?
While Storms is gone, we expect Maxie to be off-screen. Hopefully, she can be reunited with her baby before then and Maxie and her children leave Port Charles on a brief vacation to recover from the character’s trauma.
